What is Ujima Eshé?
Collective Work and Responsibility for Life: A Holistic, Faith-Based Approach to Health and Wellness
At Innergy Inc., a faith-based organization, we believe in empowering individuals and communities through education, prevention, and support. Our core values emphasize the importance of children as the future of our country, and we are dedicated to providing them with the resources they need to thrive. Through our Ujima Eshé Peer Navigator/Ambassador Program and holistic health initiatives, we address critical issues such as substance use prevention, mental health promotion, and stigma reduction, particularly among youth aged 12-25.
Our Collective Work and Responsibility for Life initiative embodies a comprehensive approach to health and wellness for all ages—youth, teens, adults, and seniors. We offer tailored education and prevention programs focusing on sexual health, HIV/STI prevention, mental health awareness, and substance use intervention. As we combat the growing opioid crisis—where 136 people die daily from overdose, and opioid fatalities increased by 46% from 2019-2020—our goal is to prevent youth from falling into substance use and empower them to help their friends and families.
Guided by our faith, we are committed to nurturing future generations, ensuring they have the knowledge, tools, and support to build healthier, more informed communities in Washington, D.C., and beyond.
