Foundation & History

Innergy Incorporated, founded by Rev. Darryl! LC Moch and board members Bishop Martin Nunn, Elder Marcus Bell, and Crystal Liddell-Jenkins, was established in Georgia in the early 2000s and reformed in 2021. Achieving 501(c)3 status in 2022, Innergy is a faith-based organization dedicated to eradicating poverty and enhancing the quality of life for all people, focusing on marginalized communities, including people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. The organization works within communities to provide education, healthcare, mental health services, HIV/AIDS care, and other essential resources, promoting faith as a positive influence on social change.

Innergy Incorporated emerged from the merging of Inner Light Inc. and Project Healthy Living in 2022, creating a stronger organization to address the intersectional needs of their communities. Inner Light Inc., founded by Bishop Cheeks and Rev. Darryl! in 2010, and Project Healthy Living, formed in 2009, both aimed to empower communities through holistic health promotions and community engagement. Project Healthy Living, originally a working group of Black gay and bisexual men supported by the DC Department of Health and other organizations, focused on improving sexual health outcomes and fostering healthy life choices. Their merger with Innergy Incorporated combined their efforts and resources to better serve their collective communities.
